Why San Francisco is important to me: I was introduced to the rich history of grassroots community organizing in the City last summer while working with residential tenants facing displacement in the Mission. I wanted to learn more about the role of government in San Francisco’s diverse, unique environment. In particular, the current moment of the second technology boom and its dramatic economic and political changes present complex challenges that demand innovative solutions from both the community and the City.
Something unique about me: I have helped form two different ukulele orchestras, one of which performed “In Bloom” in a garage at a Nirvana album covers night.
