Why San Francisco is Important to me:
My tight-knit family lived in a studio-loft—both my parents are artists—in SOMA until I was four years old. Our transition from city to countryside occurred gradually; I remember driving weekly from South-of-Market to the Golden Gate Bridge, gazing out the backseat window and taking in the diversity of the city’s varied neighborhoods. Throughout my childhood in Sonoma County, San Francisco always seemed like a beacon of progressiveness and an oasis of quality eats. Attending college on the East Coast made me realize my deep connection to SF and the Bay Area, and the value that I place on the region’s community focus. I am incredibly excited to be home and to have the opportunity to give back to the area that I now know I cherish.

Something unique about me: I am obsessed with food—the preparation, the consumption, the conversation. Looks like I am in the right city! I even have my own food blog—celeste-berg.blogspot.com.
